a first grade teacher, began dancing and competing at a young age and continued to love the art of dance as an adult. She began assisting and teaching at Reach for the Stars when her own daughters began showing the same love for dance. Here, she attended numerous workshops and competitions as part of the staff. Lisa enjoys training and teaching basic technique to the very youngest students. In addition, she finds joy working with the intermediate and more advanced students as they grow in their dancing. Lisa, particularly loves the family feel that is created at Reach for the Stars by the parents, teachers, and most of all our students!
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bethany Schimonsky began her dance training at the young age of two and a half. Although she prosperously competed in all genres of dance, Bethany rigorously trained in the Cecchetti classical ballet technique. She has also expanded her training at the American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive. Latterly, Bethany is proud to be a 2015 graduate of the University of Arizona receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance. While attending the prestigious Arizona School of Dance, Bethany was disciplined in their ternion education of ballet, modern, and jazz. Whilst there, she was able to study closely with choreographers and repetiteurs such as Leslie Peck, Bonnie Mathis, Michael Tevlin, Melissa Lowe, James Clouser, and Sherry Zunker, during which time she was selected as Principal for several of their renowned works. Grateful for her experiences and education, Bethany is happy to step into the professional world to share her knowledge with other aspiring dancers.
